Dell Voice Fongo Free VoIP Service is Down Today

The Dell Voice Fongo free VoIP service is down this morning - Sunday, March 18, 2012.  As well, their web site, www.fongo.com has also been experiencing intermittent outages and slow page loading.

I started using the Dell Voice, powered by Fongo.com, service just after the service launched earlier this month.  I purchased their SIP VoIP unlock key for $50, which is supposed to give unlimited incoming and outgoing calling across Canada, at no extra charges (after purchasing the $50 unlock key).  So far, I have been pleased with the VoIP service on my Cisco SPA504G IP-Phone and the 3CXPhone softphone on my PC.

I hope the service outage, which began early this Sunday morning, is only temporary and not a precursor of more outages to come in the future.  The reliability of the service is yet to be determined.... but today's outage isn't helping their satisfaction ratings.  Hopefully this is just temporary growing pains...

Update:
The sip.fongo.com proxy servers seem to be working properly again for me around 3:30 PM (MST).
Outage was at least 8 hours, or so.
